About Our Project
Millworks Project: Building a future through community participation is a capstone project from the University of Washington. The capstone surrounds a project called the Millworks: “a community benefit project featuring a food campus, childcare facilities and affordable housing”. Currently, there is a lack of engagement due to the covid-19 pandemic since the CDC advises for social gathering at this time.
Our project focuses on developing community engagement for Whatcom County. The solution is creating a platform where we can engage with the community online. This allows for Whatcom Community Foundation to perform functions that they were unable to do due to the pandemic. Based on our research the user can make a difference in getting their community voices heard through submitting ideas, taking surveys and joining events that are hosted by WCF online.
